Potteric Carr Nature Reserve

Nature Walks

There are four waymarked nature walks on the Reserve, green, yellow, blue, and red, which are identified by coloured-top wooden posts. They range from about 2½ km for the green route to around 8 km if you take in all four. They cover all parts of the Reserve that are accessible to visitors and take in 14 viewing hides, a viewing screen, and the Field Centre with Low Ellers Junction café. Please do not deviate from the waymarked paths into the conservation areas, which are preserved for the benefit of wildlife, and follow the country code. Access to the Reserve is by a valid ticket/YWT membership card and, in particular, you should not cross live railway lines without one. We hope you enjoy the walks and, maybe, we shall have a chance to hear of your wildlife sightings.
